Everything is falling into place

First let me start off my saying that THE LORD IS SO GOOD!

Mav Stampede (UTA is awesome and does welcome week for 2 weeks instead of one) is officially complete! The vision for Mav Stampede is to cast our nets wide and reach out to as many people as possible, letting them know that there is a ministry on campus that cares about them and there are people that want to love on them and know them. We had events throughout the week like capture the flag, field night, board game night and many others where we got to meet a lot of new students. Many of my conversations were about typical things like their major, where they are from, how they are liking their roommate so far ect. But there have also been many interactions where when the conversation was over I was met with a huge smile and a "thank you, you're the first person who has intentionally tried to talk to me since I came to campus." Those interactions make everything worth it. I can't wait to see how the Lord grows the seeds that we planted during Mav Stampede.

Mavs Convocation with FOCUS fam

Our first TNF was a huge success! I was a bit nervous about people not wanting to come because it was outside, but the Lord provided and so many new students came! There was a time of worship and a message where we discussed how Jesus was first sent into the world and how we too are sent to be missionaries on our campus. Whataburger definitely knows who FOCUS is now because filled the whole place up later that night for our after event!

TNF outside of the library
Cores started up this week! Core is our same gender smaller communities where we get to grow in friendship with one another while simultaneously growing in our faith and learning what it means to be a follower of Jesus. I'm partnered with a sweet girl named Taylor who I get to lead with all year and I'm so excited! Tuesday was our first core and we had 13 girls show up which was so amazing and such a testament to God's goodness and how he is moving on UTA's campus. I can't wait to see how God will work in the lives of these girls this year!

Thank you everyone for your support in my ministry here at UTA. The lord is doing amazing things here and I get to be apart of that because of you and I'm so grateful!

With love,
Caitlin

  2. Hey Caitlin! I am so excited that you and Taylor are leading Core together this year. You are both such sweet, welcoming people, and I know you will create a Core atmosphere that helps those new ladies grow deep spiritual friendships. God is already at work bringing them in. I can't wait to see what He does this year! Love you!
