October Update!

So many neat things happened this month I can't wait to tell you about! The first exciting thing that October brought was Fall Camp! Fall Camp is an annual event that is specific to each college campus. UTA had ours at Camp Copass in Denton, Texas and it was seriously such a fun weekend. There was a couple organized sessions in between the free time that we had to hang out with one another, but the most impactful session to me was the worship night.

Students gathered around for the worship night

One of the questions we discussed was "what is something about God that you are just in awe of?" The responses were amazing from all the students. Students reflected on the beauty of all God created, how vast the universe is that we know very little about, how human beings are so intricately and perfectly made by God, and so much more. We probably sat there discussing how awesome God is for about an hour and nobody ever ran out of anything to say. This time was really impactful to me because I don't often take time to sit and just think about how big, awesome, all mighty, and all powerful the God we serve is and how neat it is that he chose us to be his creation and wants a relationship with each of us.

Also some more exciting news from this month is 3 of our students got baptized recently!!! Natasha, Jocelyn, and Megan all expressed their commitment to following Jesus by being baptized this month! God is really doing amazing work in the hearts of the students in our ministry!

Natasha's baptism at Fall Camp!
Jocelyn's baptism!

Megan's baptism!
Something God is continually reminding me of is that he is constantly at work and these student's baptisms reminded me of how all of us have our own personal journeys but that God is doing amazing work in all people! It was so awesome to hear all these students talk about their journeys and how they ultimately decided to be baptized. Our loving God meets us all where we are at and walks alongside us every step of the way.

Thank you everyone for your support in this journey! God has been so good to me and this experience has been one I would not change for the world. I'm thankful to you all for allowing me to be a part of the work that God is doing at UT-Arlington, without you all this would not be possible.

With love,
Caitlin

  1. So many cute pictures! Fall Camp was such a blast, and I think it really helped bond our students together. I see so many of them loving each other well and growing together now. Also, so many baptisms!!! Praise God!
I am so encouraged by everything God is doing at UTA, and I'm blessed to get to work with you here. Love you Caitlin!!
